Students will do a research project in groups up to three students. The topic of the research project will be determined by the supervisor, in consultation with the students. The research projects will be carried out in one of the research groups in the domains Computer Science or Data Science within the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics. After the topic and supervisor have been determined, the students will:- perform research (including the necessary literature study) on the chosen topic, in collaboration with the supervisor
- write a paper about the results of their research
- give a presentation about their paper
Objectives
After the course, students have gained experience in participating in a small research project, and they know how to use scientific literature to formulate research questions and to support their research are able to contribute to scientific research projects know how to write a research paper.Scheduling of the project is flexible to be spread over different quartiles, depending also on availability of the supervisor. However, the project cannot coincide with the Software Engineering Project
