CBL Molecules and Materials is a group-based challenge-based learning course. Student groups will learn how to prepare functional molecules and materials and measure its properties. Then it is up to the student groups to learn to understand the synthetic methods and use the gained insights to optimize specific properties of the synthesized molecules and materials. To this end, experiments have to be set up and excecuted, and data has to be interpreted in order to gain insight into the synthetic processes and stucture-property relations of the products. Student groups have a large degree of freedom and responsibility to design their own experiments and choose their path towards their final goal.
