Biomolecules and soft matter



This course focuses on the physics of so-called soft condensed matter: materials ranging from living tissue to rubbers, polymer solutions, and liquid crystals. We consider the relevant dynamics, thermodynamics, and mesoscopic particle interactions of this abundant class of materials, and discuss how these properties underlie the macroscopic response and technological applications of soft matter.
