Article for the Belgian (Flemish) newspaper De Standaard. Even though Albert Camus' The Plague is being reread voraciously in our Covid days, perhaps Ionesco's The Rhinoceros serves as a better portrait of our days: the resistance against Covid measure (like social distance) collides with the ever growing rhino-idea that true freedom and authenticity means being able to do exactly what I want at any moment.
