The fear of being afraid

Press/Media: Expert Comment

Description

The reactions to the Covid pandemic and its measures show a parallel with our reaction to climate change: denial, coupled with a fear of being afraid. In reference to an earlier interview, at the beginning of the pandemic, in which I was asked 'what Zen could teach us in order to deal with it', I formulate a second, and this time a but more robust kind of Zen, based on 'sobering up', 'toughening up' and 'waking up'.
