Description of the worksessions:

Climate Resilient City

The DesignLab for the Climate Resilient City is researching the potentials of greens spaces around apartment blocks owned by housing associations to improve climate robustness and biodiversity of the neighborhood. During the workshop we will discuss and work with the experts of the housing associations, municipality and waterboard on the design scenarios and toolbox that we’re developing to utilize the potentials.

Home for Youth

The Jongeren WoonLab organizes a poster session on the final work of 9 architecture students The students worked one semester on housing solutions for (homeless) youth in the station area of Helmond. Direct clients of the studio are the TU/e Real Estate department and Helmond Municipality. Various experts from the municipality, housing associations and care organizations were involved during the studio, all for a common cause: Housing is a right!

Brabant WaterLand

Brabant WaterLand focuses on the many transitions that have a spatial impact on the countryside. In the past few years we focused on the Dommel but within this session we will explore a new location: De Naad van Brabant. A unique zone between sand and clay where a rising ground water table urges a transformation of the land use. What kind of farming will be possible? Can we still live there? Is there space for nature? Let’s find out!
