Description
Atmospheric pressure non-thermal plasmas can be successfully applied in material science and emerging topics in other applications. It is a versatile tool that can be applied to substrates that are sensitive to high temperatures, high currents or reduced pressure. However, the non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasmas are both very complicated for diagnostics and very sensitive. The presence of a substrate will almost always change the plasma properties. It is therefore imperative that plasma-substrate interactions be taken into account when performing diagnostics on the plasma. In this talk the accent will be on the manner in which the presence of targets changes fundamental plasma properties.
