With the chair Architectural Design and Engineering, we are doing research by design, for GGzE, developing future scenario’s for the transformation of the estate “Landgoed Grote Beek” into a future oriented green enclave.The fastly changing demands in the psychiatrical healthcare, where healthcare shifted from intramural care to more ambulant oriented healthcare, were a reason to rethink the possibilities of this unique green estate.
Sustainability, openness versus protectiveness and architectural-tools for designing healing environments were the key challenges we worked with.
In the presentation the results will be shown of one and a half year of collaboration with GGzE and the challenges and plans for upcoming years.
